Jobs anyone???

Tim is a resident nurse at the local hospital. He is garanteed a job here, but he has to get hired on to a unit within the next five or six weeks. He applied for a position in the I.C.U. but did not get it. We are totally bummed because the nurse recruiters led him to believe that he would get a job in the I.C.U. with no problem at all. That is one reason we came here. Well, he didn't get the job so he has to find a job in another unit and then work there for 6 months to a year before he can transfer to the I.C.U.

In order to get into Master's school he has to have about two years of I.C.U. experience before he is even competitive in the application process. We could end up being here for a few years yet. Unless a miracle happens.

We are trying to be positive about it. You never know what the Lord has in store for you. I think this could be a blessing for our family in the long run. It will give Tim more R and R time before he hits the books again. Also, more time to save up for school. Less in student loans would be a plus!!

Things don't always go the way you plan. But in my limited experience it has always been for the best. It is a good thing Heavenly Father knows what he is doing with our lives or else we would have messed them up a long time ago.

That is the pits!!! I am sorry about that Tim. Have you looked at any other hospitals for positions? One thing to remember is that you might have to work at least 6+ months in a new unit to do an internal transfer, but if there is another position open in another hospital, that position would start immediatley. It might be worth looking into at least. It is very interesting to see the Lord's hand in our lives leading us to where he wants us to go. Good luck with the job search, we are thinking about you and sure miss you all.

When Tim got hired on at this hospital he had to sign a one-year contract with this hospital. So we have to stay here at least that long. By the time we can leave, I am sure we will be able to get into one of their I.C.U.'s.
