Audrey pees the bed now about every other night. I mean, she pees through her diaper and soaks her sheets, clothing, and bed. I try to clean up her bed the best I can and it is still starting to get the pee stains on it. Gross! :( I have tried everything I can think of and I don't know what else to do. First of all, I have been trying to limit her liquid intake at night and push more fluids in the day time. Secondly, we have tried a new brand of diapers. They work a little better than the old ones, but still not good enough! Thirdly, I have tried changing her diaper in the night, but she gets all revved up to play and won't go back to sleep. They don't make plastic sheets for her bed. Maybe I could try to make some, but I don't even know where to start with that. Do any of you dedicated readers have any suggestions? I am sure it is very unsanitary for her to be lying in her pee until I find her in the morning. Sometimes her face will be lying on the wet spot. This is what makes me think that something really needs to change here.
I thought that just "older" kids peed the bed. Not babies!
If you have any ideas please let me know! I am to the point I will try almost anything.

I guess you could try leting her sleep in the bath tub.....? .....Sound like her kidneys are working well.....that's a good thing......Not much help...
You've tried everything I would suggest. Let me think on it. Good luck, sorry I am no help.
Not to freak you out or anything, but go get her blood sugar levels tested. (Especially if she seems more thirsty than usual.) That sounds just like Miles before we figured out he was diabetic. Excessive urination (and thirst) is a classic first symptom. I'm crossing my fingers that she just needs a bigger sized diaper. When my kids start growing out of a size, they will leak out the sides sometimes.
Tara - I would try bigger sized diaper. If not I would do what Melinda said. Until then place a folded towel under her maybe it will soak up some of the wetness.
Now, I don't have kids or anything, but you might try those puppy pads. You know the ones they put down for dogs when they are house-training. They are absorbent like a diaper, so it would supplement the soaking up needs, and they are plastic on the bottom I think so it would save the bed from pee stains maybe. Just a thought. Ditto Melinda though, I would see about getting her blood sugar tested.
Me and Grandpa and Grandma think that maybe you should take her to the doctor and get her checked out.
Thanks for everyone's comments, emails, and calls on this matter. We appreciate everyone's willingness to help out. I have talked with Tim about this(because he works with a lot of diabetics everyday in the hospital)and he doesn't think that she has any symptoms to worry about. She isn't excessively thirsty, and she only pees a lot at night (probably because she eats a lot at night and goes without a dipaer change for hours). Once we get her nightly eating under control, if she still pees the bed, we will probably get her blood tested. It never hurts to be prepared, so I appreciate all ya'll looking out for us.
Thanks again!
Tara
