Like mother, like daughter.... so they say

Life has been crazy lately! Between running my guts out, babysitting everyone else's children, trying to watch my own child, church, basketball, and teething I haven't had much time for posting.

Today, something extra funny happened and I have to share...

Audrey woke up really cranky yesterday and I figured she was just tired or something so I got her up dragged her to Wal-mart, the post office and library. I noticed later after we had been home a while that her cheeks were red and she felt really hot (this isn't the funny part). I took her temperature and sure enough she had a fever of about 102 degrees. I striped her down to her diaper so she could cool off and got a wet washcloth to cool her down. She didn't cool down, in fact her temperature went up to 103 degrees. I gave her Motrin and Tylenol hoping that this would help. I looked in her mouth to see if she was teething. Her gums were swollen. She was miserable! She is getting her I-teeth. Poor little darling. I told her dad was coming home from work and she immediately perked up. Audrey LOVES daddy! As soon as she saw Tim she started playing and giggling it was really cute!

When bed time rolled around she was still feverish so we decided that she would just sleep in her diaper. She slept for a couple of hours and then woke up in a lot pain so I gave her some more Motrin and she went right back to bed.

This morning I heard her talking happily in her bed and walked in to find a naked baby and this...

*Notice the wet spot in the lower left corner* Yes, that is what you think it is.

I couldn't help but just start laughing. She has never even tried to take her diaper off herself. I immediately cleaned her the best I could and gave her breakfast so I could clean up the mess. This is what she looked like after the ordeal but before her bath....

I'd say she is quite happy with herself ;)

They say that I was the same way when I was a child. I would rip my diapers off whenever I could. I think it took some duct tape to keep mine on. We'll see how things go with this one before I go buy my roll of tape.

FYI, Audrey is feeling much better today. Fever has gone down. Drooling a lot so hopefully we will have some new pearly whites soon.

Rockin' with Molly

What a head of hair your little nudity woman has! That's such a funny story. Diaperless peeing is hilarious. Diaperless pooping, on the other hand, not so charming.

I was watching the neighbor boy once when he decided to silently "finger paint" his crib/walls/self brown after his nap. MOST DISGUSTING BATH I'VE EVER GIVEN! The worst part: having to clip his overgrown poo nails. Including toenails...yes, poop under his toenails. So gross.

If there's fear of such an event in your future, I'd invest in tape. :)

Sounds like Audrey has entered the next challenging phase of her interesting little life. Good luck getting her through this one! Glad that she is feeling better.
