Craziness

Life has been good here. We have been so busy! I know you all have been biting your nails in suspense of my next post... So after many complaints...Here it is!!

Audrey is in a REALLY fun stage right now. She makes us laugh out loud every day. She won't call us "mom" and "dad" anymore. She calls us "Tam" (meaning Tim) and "Teh" (meaning Tara). Such a big personality in such a little body! Life has been really good around here lately!

Tim has been getting his hours at work. People are still hurting themselves and getting sick so we still have a job (I know that sounds kind of morbid)!

We feel really grateful that Tim still has his job. We have seen many people struggling with their employment during this time of economic turmoil. Crazy times! I hope it will end soon, but not before we all learn the valuable lessons we need to about consumerism and money-handling. Afterall, why did the economy go south???

I am still running my guts out and have lost almost 10 pounds. Yee-haw! Running still isn't easy but well worth the effort! I got asked to give a talk on Mother's Day. That was so NOT fun! It reminds me of how much I detest talking in church! I am glad it is over and hopefully my number won't be called again anytime soon. GO away bishopric!

Audrey took her first steps recently. She still doesn't want to walk, but we know she can so we work with her every night. We call it "Mandatory Walking Time." I think it is her least favorite part of the day. Oh-well. She needs to do it some time. Audrey knows a lot of different animals and the sounds they make. It is really cute when she barks like a dog or oinks like a pig. Talk about a payday for me. It is fun to see that she really is learning what I teach her! Audrey still loves books. We hope she continues to love them throughout her life. Reading is awesome!

A culinary attempt at an ice cream roll. It looked a little sad, but tasted fantastic!

Audrey put this hat on yesterday all by herself. It was really cute so we took some pictures.

Today, we had a girly party and painted Audrey's toes for the first time. She thinks it is really cool. :)

It has been a long time......

I happened to run into my old friend from high school one day, and she happens to be a photographer. I thought hey, why not? Lets get some pictures taken of Audrey. They turned out superb! Thanks Melese! Here are a few....

Audrey has been a blast and so fun lately! She started singing do-wah-do-wah-do-wah the other day. Today, her dad taught her to say poop. It sounds like pbup incase you were wondering. She also says one, two, one, two like she is marching or something. However, she still refuses to walk. The more I try to work with her the less she wants to do it. The other day, I was on the phone and she stood up by me and took one step forward and looked over at me, saw I was watching her, and sat down on the floor. I think she CAN secretly walk, but doesn't want me to know that. She climbs up the back of the couch and bangs on the wall, walks on her knees, and does all sorts of other things that make me think it is more a matter choice, not ability. Oh, well. What do you do?

Also, today I ran my 5k! All my hard work and training paid off. Number one...I ran the entire time! Number two...my goal was to run it in 40 minutes, I ran it in 39! (I know that time isn't amazing, but it is for me, so lay off!) Number three...it rained almost the whole race and it was kind of fun running in the rain. Number four...I almost died. Number five....thank you Molly for pushing Audrey in the stroller for me. Number six....thank you everyone for your words of encouragement and support. Molly had the awesome idea to make our own t-shirts for the race. It was so cool and fun. We named the race the SC(sexy calves)-Easter 5k. All our shirts say that except Audrey's says something else... That is really what I think about everytime I run. Me and my running buddy Julie. She is my neighbor and puts up with all my whining and complaining. She is a trooper! (Stomach bulge equals cell phone) Me and Molly Me and Audrey after the race. I think the wetness is from the rain and sweat mixture. What a pleasant sight!

Like mother, like daughter.... so they say

Life has been crazy lately! Between running my guts out, babysitting everyone else's children, trying to watch my own child, church, basketball, and teething I haven't had much time for posting.

Today, something extra funny happened and I have to share...

Audrey woke up really cranky yesterday and I figured she was just tired or something so I got her up dragged her to Wal-mart, the post office and library. I noticed later after we had been home a while that her cheeks were red and she felt really hot (this isn't the funny part). I took her temperature and sure enough she had a fever of about 102 degrees. I striped her down to her diaper so she could cool off and got a wet washcloth to cool her down. She didn't cool down, in fact her temperature went up to 103 degrees. I gave her Motrin and Tylenol hoping that this would help. I looked in her mouth to see if she was teething. Her gums were swollen. She was miserable! She is getting her I-teeth. Poor little darling. I told her dad was coming home from work and she immediately perked up. Audrey LOVES daddy! As soon as she saw Tim she started playing and giggling it was really cute!

When bed time rolled around she was still feverish so we decided that she would just sleep in her diaper. She slept for a couple of hours and then woke up in a lot pain so I gave her some more Motrin and she went right back to bed.

This morning I heard her talking happily in her bed and walked in to find a naked baby and this...

*Notice the wet spot in the lower left corner* Yes, that is what you think it is.

I couldn't help but just start laughing. She has never even tried to take her diaper off herself. I immediately cleaned her the best I could and gave her breakfast so I could clean up the mess. This is what she looked like after the ordeal but before her bath....

I'd say she is quite happy with herself ;)

They say that I was the same way when I was a child. I would rip my diapers off whenever I could. I think it took some duct tape to keep mine on. We'll see how things go with this one before I go buy my roll of tape.

FYI, Audrey is feeling much better today. Fever has gone down. Drooling a lot so hopefully we will have some new pearly whites soon.

A fun and crazy week

Audrey and I went to visit my sister Amber in Pocatello, this week. Her husband has been in Florida, working for the past couple of weeks. We had a ball! I thought I could eat baby Piper all up. Audrey loved being around her cousins. We learned two things about Audrey from this trip: 1. She doesn't like people in her face and will hit them until they leave her alone (poor Becca and Aymree, I hope they don't have too many bruises). 2. She is a sneaky little thing. She can stand by herself, but the second she realizes I am looking at or near her she sinks down and can't possibly stand again but just "needs" to be held and will whine until I pick her up.

Oh, the drama of it all!

Breakfast time

Also, Audrey is becoming less of a baby everyday and more of a little girl. She now gets the bedtime "crazies" and roles around on the floor kicks and squealing in delight trying to escape going to bed. She just doesn't want to miss one single thing. Can't say I blame her.

The date is set

We found a 5k here in Provo. April 11th is the big day. It is going to be awesome!
